Pulentos, 2D the movie
The cinematographic 2D version of the animated 3D series broadcasted by channel 13 in Chile. The characters Benzo, Nea, Barry, Walala y Ramón, form a young hip hop band from a poor neighborhood in Santiago. Including original music by the mexican band Plastilina Mosh, according to the director of the film Julio Pot, declarations for sKolNews -”the film was realized 2D because allow us to enrich the story in regards off adding more emotions, movements y script possibilities”. According to me was merely for economic motivations.
The movie was realized by fifty people, I performed different tasks, script forms, from lipsink, to layout, animation, but overall animation checking. In a great work environment it took us only one year to finish the entire film. The animation pipeline was based on a vectorial adaptation to the traditional animation system.
The adventure starts when “Los Pulentos” receive the news of being selected for the Drammy Music Awards in Miami, and for the first time the band feels the real change of win world fame, but the troubles start when their friendship is tested by Madame Nidia when she offers a millionaire contract to Benzo if he leaves the band. Nevertheless, the pets of the band, Jorge the dog and the sausage Tom York, will unmask the mysterious Madame Nidia and save the day.
